This course targets staff who are responsible for procurement and those non-procurement staff who may be required to undertake a significant procurement project within their organisation.
The skills learnt will provide participants with a wide range of tools to facilitate any type of procurement from low value/low risk to high value/high risk.
Procurement Essentials is a non-accredited introduction to the principles of procurement that will cover:
- Acquisition/Project Planning;
- Market Analysis
- Market Approach
- Risk Management
- Development of Specification/Requirements Document
- Tender/Market documents
- Basics of Negotiation
- Purchase Recommendation
- Types of Contracts (sole supplier/panel arrangement)
- Contract Management
The Essentials of Procurement is conducted over two consecutive days.
Both days will be from 9.00 am - 4.30 pm.
There are no formal prerequisites for this course.
Participants will take away a clear understanding of the procurement process that will ensure that a fair, ethical and transparent process is conducted with a focus on value for money outcomes.
