Course Overview
This course is for Committee Members in the first year of office or who have not yet attended an approved training course.
In recognition of the pivotal consultative role of health and safety committees, the learning outcomes of the course have been designed to emphasise the consultative and participative approach and the value of taking an active and effective role in committee activities.
The course consists of one unit:
SWSAHSC101A Introduction to health and safety committees.
This unit provides participants with an understanding of the structure and role of health and safety committee under the occupational health, safety and welfare legislation. It includes an overview of the principles of an effective health and safety committee and the conduct of meetings.
Training Delivery Format:
The training is delivered face-to-face in a classroom based learning environment. The duration of training is 7 hours (9am to 4pm). There is also the option of attending day 2 which is the Committee Strategic Review and Continuous Improvement Course - This is also runs for a duration of 7 hours.
