Course Overview
This ongoing course is approved for a health and safety representative in their third and subsequent year of office, including a HSR how has been re-elected for another term without a break in continuity of the role of more than two years. The program is a professional development program that builds upon the structured training delivered during a HSRs first and second years of office.
This course aims to build the knowledge, skills, capability and competence of HSRs through their participation in continuing training activities available within a flexible training framework.

Internal Auditing (2 days)
Conflict & Workplace Relationships
Integrating environmental and safety management - Introduction
Project Management
Each topic may be undertaken individually or as part of a 5-day program.
Course Outcomes:
• Deal with OHSW issues of increasing complexity
• Gain a greater understanding of OHSW issues, hazards, risks and control measures
• Understand and apply tools and techniques specific to their industry, workplace, hazards or risks
• Understand recent developments and emerging issues in OHSW in Australia and internationally
• Further develop their consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Further develop their planning, organising and time-management skills
• Further develop their research, investigation, analysis, evaluation, report writing and presentation skills
• Build and maintain an OHSW network, which may include other HSRs, personnel from SafeWork SA, personnel from employee representative organisations, personnel from employer representative organisations, practitioners, professionals and experts in OHSW.
