Health & Safety Representative (HSR) Level 2

Delivery Method: The training is delivered face-to-face in a classroom based learning environment. The duration of training is over a 5 day period with 7 hour days (with tea breaks and a 30 minute lunch break) 9am to 4pm. The training may be scheduled over 5 consecutive days or a block of 3 days in one week and 2 days in another. For in-house programs, please contact us for a quote.

Course Overview

This Level 2 course is a more advanced course for health and safety representatives who have already completed the Level 1 course.

Health and safety representatives (HSRs) are entitled to attend a course of training approved by the SafeWork SA Advisory Committee.

The six units involved in this course are:

  • Revision of occupational health, safety and welfare legislation
  • A systematic approach to managing occupational health, safety and welfare 
  • Hazard management systems
  • Workers' rehabilitation and the return to work process
  • Investigation of injuries, illnesses, incidents and complaints
  • Research, prepare and present a case in support of OH&S issue

The course aims to develop, reinforce, extend and complement the range of skills and knowledge acquired in the Health and Safety Representative Level 1 Course. The course is aimed at empowering elected health and safety representatives to proactively represent their work group (including those with specific needs) effectively and constructively.
