When you and the course you’ve chosen are a good fit, the likelihood of you successfully completing your course is high. So, before you begin your training, we may do a few checks to ensure the course you’ve chosen is suitable for you. We call this our pre-training review.
The pre-training review allows us to check that:
- you have the literacy and numeracy level to undertake and successfully complete the course you have chosen or if you’ll need additional support to do so (see Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skill Check)
- the course selected is suitable for you and meets your needs and career goals.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skill Check
When you enrol in one of our VET training programs, you may be asked to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skill Check. The purpose of the skill check is to find out whether you need any additional support to succeed in your studies.
If you do need additional support, our learning consultant will contact you. They will talk to you about the outcomes of the skill check and they may refer you to appropriate support services.
Your facilitator/s will also support you in understanding the training and assessment materials. They can also help you develop strategies to successfully complete your studies.
Please note: If you have completed a qualification at the same or higher level in the past, you may not need to undertake the LLN Skill Check. However, if you do need to complete it, it needs to be done before you can start your qualification or skill set.
Learner and course suitability
Taking time out of your work and your family life to study is a big commitment, so it’s important that the course you undertake is a good fit for your needs and career aspirations.
When you enrol with us, we will review your course selection to ensure that it is suitable for you. If we need some more information or think that another course may be a better fit for you, we will contact you to discuss it.
