The Assessor Skill Set is the minimum requirement for assessors working for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
This course is essential if you’re required to work for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or employer and need to assess others against nationally recognised qualifications or units of competency.
On completion of this Skill Set you will be able to:
- undertake assessments for an RTO
- undertake systematic validation for an RTO.
The course will give you the tools to:
- interpret a unit of competency and create assessment plans
- plan and validate assessment processes and activities
- design and develop assessment tools that guide the collection of quality evidence, including Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) evidence
- make credible assessment decisions based on evidence provided by the candidates being assessed.

Please note:
- ASC Training & Development does not take payment of more than $1,500 from individuals in a single payment.
- Nationally recognised training is GST free.
To enrol in this course you must:
- have English language and literacy skills sufficient to undertake study at Certificate IV level.
- have good computer skills and be able to organise and manage files, edit documents, research information on the internet, and record video on your phone, tablet or other device.
- be able to commit 10-15 hours of your own time for each assessment (assessment tasks are completed between sessions).

Content
This qualification is made up of 3 units of competency from the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- TAEDES411 Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs
- TAEASS412 Assess competence
- TAEASS413 Participate in assessment validation
Assessment
- Assessment is competency based. You will be assessed as ‘Competent’, ‘Partially Complete’ or ‘Not Yet Competent’ for each unit of competency.
- You will be invited to resubmit work until competency can be demonstrated.
