Dulux is part of DuluxGroup, which was established in Australia more than a century ago and is a leading marketer and manufacturer of premium branded products.
Challenge
Dulux, a leading Australian paint manufacturer, identified a need for staff across various departments (admin, quality control, operations) to effectively train colleagues in delivering work skill instruction.
Solution
ASC Training & Development designed and delivered a tailored two-day on-site "Train the Trainer" program using the TAEDEL311 Unit of Competency for a group of 11 staff.
Training Methodology
The program was highly practical, with participants actively involved in:
- Exploring effective trainer characteristics
- Identifying learning barriers and motivators
- Understanding adult learning principles
- Developing structures for successful work skills instruction
- Practising communication skills for clear and engaging delivery
- Analysing trainer traits, overcoming learning barriers, and delivering mock training sessions
Assessment
Participants were assessed through:
- Active participation in discussions and activities
- Delivering mock training sessions with feedback and improvement guidance
- Developing a training plan for a work skill they would deliver
Outcomes
ASC Training & Development helped to upskill Dulux staff through:
