Assessor Skill Set (for Registered Secondary Teachers)

The Assessor Skill Set is the minimum requirement for assessors working for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

This course is designed for registered secondary teachers and takes into account their current experience as educators in the secondary high school context.

As of 1 March 2024, secondary school teachers with relevant qualifications may train and assess within the VET sector, providing they complete either the TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or the TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set.

In simple terms, this means that registered secondary teachers are no longer required to complete the full Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to train and assess in VET.

$960 (GST free)

Please note: Nationally recognised training is GST free.

To enrol in this course you must:

  • be able to demonstrate vocational competency in the field where you intend to or currently teach.
  • be currently registered as a secondary teacher (in Australia).
  • be able to commit to all 3 days scheduled as well as 3-4 hours of your own time for each assessment (assessment tasks are completed between sessions).
