The Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is designed for new and emerging managers or leaders who are working in a supervisory role and reporting to a manager.
This course will give you a range of practical supervisory and management skills to take back to the workplace, including:
- operational planning (including sustainability planning)
- building effective relationships with teams and individuals
- planning and leading difficult conversations
- driving continuous improvement and innovation
- managing your own personal health and wellbeing
- developing personal leadership capability
- strengthening your communication skills
- managing conflict.

There are no formal prerequisites for this qualification. However, the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is designed for new and emerging managers or leaders. Experience in the workplace and managing a team is desirable.
To enrol in this course you must:
- have English language and literacy skills sufficient to undertake study at Certificate IV level.
- have good computer skills and be able to organise and manage files, edit documents, research information on the internet, and record video on your phone, tablet or other device.
- be able to commit 10-15 hours of your own time for each assessment (assessment tasks are completed between sessions).

This qualification is made up of 12 units of competency (5 core and 7 elective).

Assessment
- Assessment is competency based. You will be assessed as ‘Competent’, ‘Partially Complete’ or ‘Not Yet Competent’ for each unit of competency.
- You will be invited to resubmit work until competency can be demonstrated.
