This engaging and practical professional learning workshop helps educators and school staff build a deeper understanding of neurodiversity through the powerful perspectives of people with lived experience.
“The world needs all kinds of minds.”
— Temple Grandin
This interactive professional learning workshop provides teachers, education support staff, wellbeing personnel and school leaders with deeper insight into neurodiversity and disability inclusion through the voices of people with lived experience. Participants gain practical strategies to strengthen inclusion, support student engagement and create learning environments where every student can thrive.
A unique feature of this workshop is the involvement of volunteer speakers with lived experience of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia and dysgraphia. Participants hear authentic stories about school experiences, learning barriers, inclusive practices, communication strategies and the supports that made a meaningful difference.
Through interactive discussion, reflection and practical activities, participants will:
- develop a deeper understanding of neurodiversity in educational settings
- explore inclusive practices that support student engagement and participation
- learn directly from people with lived experience of disability
- reflect on classroom adjustments and support strategies
- strengthen their capacity to create inclusive learning environments where all students can succeed.
Participants also have the opportunity to engage in respectful conversations, ask questions, and gain practical insights that can be applied immediately within their school context.
